Thirty West Virginia artists were selected for the exhibit, which features 43 pieces, including painting, drawing, mixed media, craft, photography, digital art and sculpture. Sixteen counties are represented in the show. Three awards were presented for the exhibition. The Best of Show/Purchase Award was presented to Jesse Thornton, Huntington, Cabell County for No Service; second place to Terry Hickernell, Charleston, Kanawha County for Innocence Lost; and third place to Jenny Wilson, Morgantown, Monongalia County for Broke Down Fences. A list of all exhibitors is below. “We are proud to showcase these amazing West Virginia artists,” said Randall Reid-Smith, WVDACH commissioner. “The arts is very important to our communities and with the emerging artists exhibition and the biennial juried exhibition we want to continue to feature as many artists from the Mountain State as we can.” The entries and winners were selected by Kim Beck, an artist whose work includes drawing, print, installation and sculpture.
